An inconvenient truth

Thanks to professor Berghoff’s recommendation in class last Thursday about “An inconvenient truth”. I rented this from one of those Safeway’s movies kiosks for $ 1.49 and watched last night. It was one of the best movies I’ve seen in a long time. I was shocked at some of the images that were collected over the years. I had no idea that the impact of global warming is so catastrophic. The technology available to get some of these images was simply amazing to me. I also had no idea how passionate Al Gore was about the issue until the video. I gained more respect for the man seeing how knowledgeable he was. I learned a tremendous amount of information in a 90-minute documentary than I could ever learn in a science class. The amount of data they collected to show us was just simply amazing. I can see the political impact on our earth when our President does not want to do anything about it. The clip where G.W. Bush called Regan crazy for talking about global warming during Regan’s campaign made me realize how ignorant people can be. I was frustrated and felt responsible as a U.S. citizen because our country is responsible for most of the pollution. I used to want an SUV after I graduate college, but now I have no problem buying one of those hybrid cars to contribute to saving our planet. I want to learn more about this topic and see how i can help improve our current "earth" situation. I highly recommend everyone to watch this movie.

I've been meaning to watch this movie but I never found the opportunity or time to do it. It seems very informative and riveting in a way most documentaries usually aren't. I've seen clips of it though (poor polar bear). I'm really impressed with Al Gore. If he ran for presidency in this upcoming election, I would vote for him without a doubt!

I have not seen this movie, but I am going to rent it. I didnt even know that it existed!
It will be interesting to know how much evidence scientists have gathered and how our leaders , specially the president, choose to ignore it.
I just hope that scientists dont ever have to say "I told you so"

Thanks for posting this! It is the best documentary I've ever seen. It's mind-boggling to see the impact that our behaviors can have on our envirnment. What's more important is that it's critical for all of us to become part of the solution.

I saw this movie and I really like it. I think it is very important for all of us to know that we have to take care of our planet if we don't want to regreat later. If we all learn how to take care of our planet it would be more simple, the real thing is that not everyone cares, and if they do, they don't do anything about it. Or sometimes, we don't see it until something happens or until we watch documentaries like the "inconvennient truth". I wish we can all do something about it. In the future I would also like to get a hybrid car and probably the system that gets installed at home to get light from the sun.

Yes, I agree Tracy. Global warming is becoming a big issue and we must open our eyes. Al Gore did a great job in this movie and definetly convinced many of us. Keep up the good work Tracy.
